Gary and Dee discuss the latest Republican budget. Agricultural Dept. cut 21%. Commerce Dept. cut 16%. Defense Dept. 9% increase. Education Dept. cut 14%. But, an increase in vouchers for school ‘choice.’ Energy Dept. cut 6%. Health and Human Services cut 18%. With the National Institute of Health receiving a 19% cut. Dept. of Homeland Security, gain 7%. Housing and Urban Development cut 13%. Programs cut here — Meals on Wheels, Low Income Housing Assistance, Low Income Heating Assistance. Interior Dept. cut 12%. Eliminates funding for upkeep of 49 National Monuments and cuts Wildfire Suppression Funding. (What could go wrong here, with the warmest winter the west has seen in years!) Justice Dept. cut 4%.
