Gary and Dee discuss health care in America. We’d love to discuss the current health care ‘reform’ proposals, but those aren’t finalized, yet. Our main focus of discussion is lack of primary care physicians. According to a Medical Colleges report, the US could lose 100,000 physicians in eight years. That’s a staggering number.
Repealing the ACA will cost nearly 2.5 Million jobs. Most of those jobs will come from hospitals and health care systems. It is projected that rural hospitals will be especially hard hit.
The immigration ban that the Supreme Court has partially allowed could also be disastrous. There are currently more than 7,000 physicians from the targeted countries working in the United States. They provide over 1 Million appointments annually. They practice in many of the under served areas of this country — rural areas and the Rust Belt.
