Gary, Lyn and Dee discuss politics and current events.   We start our podcast with a discussion on the lack of an El Paso County needle exchange program.  Peggy Littleton, El Paso Country Commissioner who sits on the Board of Health is opposed to one.  This Pro-Life, Republican from District 5 believes a needle exchange encourages drug use.  What it really does is help prevent the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C.  Indiana didn’t have a needle exchange program for a number of years because then Governor Mike Pence was opposed to one.  That led to an explosion in HIV rates in the state of Indiana.  We then move onto our two US Senators, Cory Gardner, Republican; and Michael Bennet, Democrat.  We debate the texts of speeches each gave regarding this tax bill they are trying to foist upon us.  We also discuss Sen. Chuck Grassley, Republican, Iowa.  $1.4 Trillion dollar deficit, that certainly doesn’t seem fiscally conservative.  Is it really just a pretense to come back and cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid?  Lyn, has a great article from award winning economist, Paul Krugman.

Image from the Denver Post, isn’t it amazing how many “Pro-Life” people love guns?
